Gratitude Buddies

A Mompreneur is someone who doesn't sacrifice her dreams OR her family. She braves the path that honors both.

About me

Who I am

My journey as a mompreneur probably began in an office building: when I was seeking a more fulfilling day-to-day life, when I felt like I had more to offer the world, when I encountered toxic work cultures, when I realized the job I had (in NYC) probably meant I would only see my kids for an hour each day. The call for something more meaningful, more aligned and easier to manage was extremely strong.

When I was still taking unpaid maternity leave, I decided to take a break from being a mom by becoming a meditation teacher (something I wrote about here). This was pre-pandemic and it turned out my new career fit very well with the needs of the time. I built a small community, held online classes and launched a coaching practice, while I continued to work as a writer and editor on the side.

One day, I thought about matching my community together as "gratitude buddies", and giving them a shared practice to focus on. The idea was they would serve as supporters, witnesses and accountability partners for one another. Soon after, a hospital CEO wrote to me that he wanted his staff to become gratitude buddies with one another. Thus, my company launched!

About my Business

Gratitude Buddies, my online platform, is a "mindful social network" where members can swap skills, connect and build a wellbeing practice together. Additionally, I offer company workshops (and private coaching for parents, expats and anyone seeking profound personal transformation through meditative practices. And finally, I am a single mom, raising two wonderful humans - a role that doesn't get compensated or recognized in the way it should. But one that I am honored and grateful to hold. Likewise, I am honored and grateful to be a member of Mompreneurs Society and support its members in any way I can!
