You Don’t Have to Choose Between a Successful Career and Taking Care of Yourself

What 17 years in a high-performance career taught me about success, self-care and putting myself back on my own priority list.

For most of my professional life, I knew how to perform.

For 17 years, I worked in the logistics industry, a world where speed, responsibility, problem-solving and results are part of everyday life.

I led teams, coordinated people, managed challenging situations and learned how to keep moving forward, even under pressure.

And I am deeply grateful for those years.

They shaped me.

They taught me discipline, resilience, leadership and the importance of human connection. They also gave me experiences and relationships that I carry with me today.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something:

I had become very good at taking care of everything that needed to be done. But I wasn't always as good at taking care of myself.

When did time become our greatest luxury?

I believe many ambitious women know this feeling.

We have meetings, presentations, deadlines, businesses, teams and responsibilities.

Then there are our partners, children, families, friends and all the people we love.

And somewhere on that very long list, there is us.

Usually much further down.

We tell ourselves:

I'll exercise when I have more time.

I'll take better care of myself when this project is finished.

I'll finally establish a skincare routine when life calms down.

I'll rest next weekend.

But somehow, life never really “calms down.”

There is always another project. Another responsibility. Another reason to postpone ourselves.

At some point, I understood:

If I waited until I had time left over for myself, I would always come last.

That realization changed the way I looked at self-care.

I didn't need more time. I needed different habits.

For me, self-care couldn't mean adding another complicated routine to my schedule.

I didn't want wellness to become another area where I had to perform.

I didn't need another checklist telling me everything I should be doing.

I needed something that worked in my real life.

So I started small.

I began consciously incorporating movement into my week.

I made my skincare routine a ritual, a few minutes in the morning and evening that belonged to me.

I became more intentional about nutrition, recovery and the choices I made for my wellbeing.

I started paying more attention to what my body and mind were telling me.

None of these things required me to completely change my life.

What changed was that I stopped treating myself as the person I would take care of if there happened to be time left over.

And slowly, these little rituals became habits.

From performance to sustainable wellbeing

My professional journey also made me increasingly curious about the person behind the performance.

What allows us to continue showing up?

How do we manage pressure?

How do we deal with conflict?

How do we create change that actually lasts?

Alongside my professional career, I continued studying and completed three diploma programs in areas including mental training, conflict management and mediation, and personal development and coaching.

And the more I learned, the more one question stayed with me:

What if instead of constantly asking women how they can achieve more, we helped them create a life in which they don't have to lose themselves in order to achieve?

That question became deeply personal to me.

Because I don't believe women need another person telling them to do more.

Many of us are already doing enough.

What we often need is permission, and practical ways, to include ourselves in the lives we are so carefully building for everyone else.

Self-care doesn't have to look perfect

Today, my rituals look different depending on the day.

Sometimes self-care is a workout.

Sometimes it's taking a few minutes for my skincare instead of immediately reaching for my phone.

Sometimes it's choosing a nourishing meal, prioritizing recovery or simply noticing that I need to slow down.

And sometimes it means doing absolutely nothing.

That's something I've had to learn too.

Self-care doesn't need to be Instagram-perfect.

It doesn't need to take two hours.

And it certainly shouldn't become another reason to feel guilty when we don't do it “right.”

For me, it is much simpler:

Small, intentional moments that remind me that I matter too.

And that's how Glow From Within was born.

What started as my personal journey gradually became something I wanted to share with other women.

Women who are ambitious.

Women who lead.

Women who build businesses.

Women who take care of families.

Women who are constantly thinking about the next thing that needs to happen.

Women with full lives who don't necessarily want to slow everything down — but who no longer want to disappear inside their own schedules.

That is why I created Glow From Within.

It brings together what has become essential in my own life: movement, skincare rituals, conscious nutrition, recovery, mental wellbeing and intentional self-care.

Not as a rigid formula.

Because I don't believe one routine can work for every woman.

Our lives are different. Our bodies are different. Our responsibilities are different.

Our self-care should be allowed to be different too.

60 days. Not to become someone new, but to come back to yourself.

Through my 60-day Glow From Within Program, we start with the life you actually have.

Not the life Instagram tells you that you should have.

Together, we look at your routines, your schedule, your priorities and the areas where small changes could make a meaningful difference.

Then, step by step, we introduce realistic rituals and habits that can become part of your everyday life.

The goal isn't perfection.

And it isn't to completely transform your life in 60 days.

The goal is to build something you can actually continue afterward.

Because I believe the most powerful self-care routine isn't the most elaborate one.

It's the one you actually live.

The woman behind the performance

I've spent many years learning how to perform, lead, solve problems and deliver results.

Today, I'm learning something equally valuable:

How to take care of the woman behind all that performance.

And that's the journey I now want to share with other women.

Because maybe we don't need another strategy for doing more.

Maybe we need to become better at listening to ourselves.

To move our bodies because it feels good.

To care for our skin because those five minutes belong to us.

To rest without feeling guilty.

To create rituals that bring us back to ourselves.

And to understand that caring for ourselves isn't something we have to earn after everything else is finished.

We belong on our own priority list, too.

Your skin. Your body. Your mind. Your ritual. Your glow.
